Gorton Center’s 5th Annual Cornhole & Concert is back and bigger than ever. On July 19 starting at 4:30 p.m., the milestone celebration serves up the perfect summer afternoon—a spirited amateur cornhole tournament (with prizes), live music from cover band The Luxmen, food, drinks, and warm-weather fun. Players and spectators are equally welcome, making it a perfect family outing with bragging rights on the line. Proceeds support Gorton Center’s arts and education programming, so every toss counts. The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation (LFPF) marks 50 years of stewardship with a curated collection of anniversary keepsakes worthy of the community they celebrate. Tiny historians, assemble! The Lake Bluff History Museum is sprinkling some old-fashioned magic into the Lake Bluff Farmers Market Fridays this summer. Taking turns with the Lake Bluff Library on alternating Fridays, the museum’s adorable new storytime series brings history to life with lively tales and real hands-on artifacts.
