Hinsdale attorney NADIA SHAMSI prides herself on helping people navigate some of the hardest chapters in their lives. Focusing her practice exclusively on family law, she has handled an array of family law matters, including complex high-asset divorces, post-decree modifications and enforcement, contested parentage cases, grandparent visitation, maintenance and child support, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, orders of protection, and other family-related matters. Winner of multiple prestigious awards, she is passionate about demystifying divorce. “Too often, people suffer in silence, unsure of where to begin or afraid they’ll be judged for wanting out of a marriage that no longer serves them,” says Shamsi, who was named one of the 10 Best Attorneys for Client Satisfaction in Illinois by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys every year from 2017 through 2021 and as an Emerging Lawyer every year from 2021 through 2024 with Leading Lawyers. A member of the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators, she was also recognized as a Rising Star in the field of Family Law by the American Institute of Legal Advocates.
What excites you most about the future of your industry? The integration of AI into the legal world is a game-changer. For family law, that can mean more time spent on strategy, negotiation, and client care—the human elements that truly matter—rather than drowning in paperwork. AI can’t replace judgment or empathy, but I am excited to see how it can help lawyers serve clients faster, smarter, and with greater precision.
What conversations are you passionate about bringing to the table? I want to normalize conversations about financial empowerment, emotional safety, and strategic planning during a time that feels anything but stable. That means having honest conversations about the importance of legal and financial literacy, how to protect your future during a major life shift, and how to move forward with clarity and strength. Divorce isn’t the end; it’s a critical inflection point. And the more informed, supported, and unapologetic people feel when they reach that point, the better their outcomes will be—legally, emotionally, and personally.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind? I want my legacy to be one of strategic compassion—that I met people in their hardest moments not just with empathy, but with clarity and strength. I want to be remembered as someone who helped clients navigate life-altering transitions with both emotional intelligence and sharp legal strategy.
