JORDAN SHACKELFORD says that fitness is in her blood. So, when her Lincoln Park neighbors, Tracy Roemer and Bonnie Micheli, co-founded SHRED415’s first studio there, Shakelford says, “I was immediately hooked, and since I always wanted to open my own business, I approached Bonnie and Tracy about opening SHRED locations on the North Shore.” Shackelford partnered to open her first studio in Northfield in June 2013, and then the Deerfield studio in June 2017 under the umbrella of Shred415 Northshore Studios. “From college through my first job, I always loved helping people achieve their goals,” she adds. “I find that my greatest successes come from being part of a community. This includes showing up and helping where needed and also making sure that my place of business is a comfortable environment for all who come.” Shackelford also emphasizes that she practices what she preaches, focusing on living a healthy and active lifestyle to serve as a positive example and to reinforce that change is possible and hard work pays off. In her business, it’s not surprising that she says, “I live in workout clothes! I love anything fom Vuori, lululemon or Alo, and favor Brooks for running and Nike Airmax for cross training.” When she does dress, you can find her wearing something chic from Bunny & Babe in Winnetka. Shackelford says her mother is her role model, “I strive to be like her every day.”
