Ravinia Festival held its annual fundraising gala hosted by the Ravinia Women’s Board and raised more than $800,000 for the festival’s REACH TEACH PLAY education programs. The programs serve more than 75,000 people each year, ensuring that many area schools and communities receive equitable access to music. The evening’s performance, led by Ravinia’s Chief Conductor Marin Alsop, featured Tony and Grammy Award-winning vocalist and actor Heather Headley as soloist—along with a surprise guest, tenor Roderick Dixon. The program was full of Headley’s favorite Broadway numbers and other hit songs by Elton John, Stephen Schwartz, Harold Arlen, Tim Minchin, and Kurt Weill. ravinia.org
