Heart health problems can appear differently in women than in men, often as fatigue or general feelings of unwellness. Dr. Nada Shaban and Dr. Joanne Sutter specialize in heart health care for women and understand patients’ unique symptoms and risks. “Women present differently than men, so you need to have physicians who are attuned to that,” Dr. Shaban says.

Because Dr. Shaban and Dr. Sutter bring much of the testing and treatments offered at RUSH’s Heart Center for Women in Chicago to RUSH Oak Brook, patients can find the care they need closer to home. As experts in advanced imaging for cardiac disease, they can accurately diagnose problems early and provide treatment. Scheduling appointments with their patients’ care team is simple and convenient, and they’ll have easy access to tests and imaging services, including advanced lipid profiles, CT scans, MRIs, EKGs, stress tests, and calcium scores. Each patient’s team also focuses on disease prevention and can help with managing lipids, diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure.

“RUSH has always prioritized women’s heart health. It’s exciting for us to be able to do that for women in the Western Suburbs who may have otherwise had to go downtown,” Dr. Sutter says.
