Dr. Mohammed Asif is a highly coveted plastic surgeon at PryorHealth: Chicago North Shore with over 11 years of surgical experience. He specializes in complex procedures including burn reconstruction, Mohs reconstruction for skin cancer, breast reconstruction, rhinoplasty, and facial rejuvenation surgery, as well as body contouring. Inspired by his patients, many of whom are burn victims or affected by breast cancer, he sees his ability to perform head-to-toe reconstruction as a great responsibility. “The ability to provide a semblance of normalcy for patients following cancer treatments with tissue defects or post-weight loss body contouring provides self-confidence and sheer happiness, which is amazing to me,” he shares. He received his general surgery training at Mercy Drexel School of Medicine followed by a prestigious burn surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins under Dr. Scott Hultman. There, he participated in several active clinical trials and published more than 30 articles as an instructor then later, a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Having also completed his plastic surgery fellowship at the renowned Rush University Hospital in Chicago, his surgical proficiency has been featured in Johns Hopkins Magazine and on television networks like CBS and Fox. Dr. Asif has established a robust reputation on the North Shore for being a conscientious and honest surgeon who will always do what is best for his patients to provide them with the highest quality of care.
