The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation celebrated two milestones last month—its own 50th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, a novel which was shaped, in part, by the time he spent in Lake Forest. The holiday event was held at the former home of Ginevra King, Fitzgerald’s inspiration for Daisy Buchanan. Kicking off the Foundation’s 50th anniversary and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the novel, this marvelous home—recently restored by owners Jeanette and Danny Hodgkinson—was the perfect backdrop for the festivities. A thorough history of the house was presented by the History Center’s Carol Summerfield and historian Susan Benjamin. lfpf.org
