Dr. Kristi Tough DeSapri understands how to advocate for the highest quality women’s health care. She’s regarded as a national expert in the management of menopause and osteoporosis and, since 2010, has been a respected certified practitioner in the field. Her medical practice, Bone and Body Women’s Health, addresses midlife women’s health issues by offering individualized and evidence-based treatments. “Menopause is having its moment in the spotlight,” she shares. “There is an increasing amount of awareness and media coverage discussing the importance of women’s health after their reproductive years.” Yet, this level of commercialization can often translate into unmet promises, she adds. “Many companies target midlife women without any science backing up their claims.”
That’s why Dr. DeSapri founded Bone and Body Women’s Health. The membership-based program includes a comprehensive review of hormonal and menopausal symptoms, metabolic health, and a thorough evaluation of bone mineral density using a state-of-the-art Hologic DXA scanner. This work addresses the full spectrum of midlife care for women, including common menopause symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and sleep disturbance, plus joint pain, painful intercourse, and even cognitive changes like brain fog. The clinic’s tailor-made treatment offerings include hormone therapy and non-hormonal care such as nutrition, lifestyle adjustments, and botanicals to help patients feel their best. “Women do not need to feel dismissed, suffer, or fear perceived consequences of managing symptoms and signs of perimenopause and menopause,” she shares. “They deserve a place where they are seen and heard.”
Outside of medicine, Dr. DeSapri is an avid tennis player, yogi, and enjoys playing sports with her three sons. As a recent practice owner, she enjoys the challenge of running a business with the help of her family, and especially likes connecting with like-minded women’s health practitioners across the country.
