Color, boldness, and dynamism define JOY WILLIAMS, Principal Designer at her own Joyful Designs Studio. “I specialize in creating cultured, curated, and colorful interiors with inspiration from my love of art and culture, as well as my extensive travels all over the globe,” she says. A self-taught designer with a master’s degree, Williams cut her teeth in the home renovation business and has more than ten years renovating and rehabbing properties, including designing the layout, choosing finishes, staging, and managing the entire process. The studio’s portfolio encompasses residential and commercial projects, full-gut rehabs, new builds, and micro-remodel at all stages of the design process. As an art collector, Williams uses her eye for art and design to infuse uniquely personalized spaces with boldness and dynamism. “My approach to design ensures my clients receive personalized and function-forward spaces that stand the test of time,” she says. Since opening her studio to full service design clients in 2018, her design work has been featured online in Elle Decor, Better Homes and Gardens, Forbes, My Domaine, Lonny Magazine, and Apartment Therapy. Her take on design trends has been featured by Architectural Digest Pro, The Zoe Report, and High Point Market Authority. And, she shares inspirational tips through her newsletter and Joyfully Designed Blog. Recently named the 2021 Ambassador for the New York Design Center’s “What’s New, What’s Next Conference,” a 2021 Design Influencer, and one of the newest members of the Design Leadership Network—whose membership includes titans of design and architecture—Joy Williams is one to watch.
