What sets KRISTINA TAHERI apart from other special event planners is her diverse background and experiences. Following her undergraduate studies, she was living in France working for British Airways after having an international internship go astray in Brussels. “Everything around me, during those years, looked charming and chic, every morsel of food and glass of wine tasted amazing, and all felt right in the world!” Taheri says. “I decided then and there to focus on hospitality by going to graduate school to learn to professionally translate that festive, seductive, and special feel to others.” With that inspiration, she received a Master of Management from Cornell University and was recruited by the famed Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City for event management. Eventually moving to San Francisco, she put that experience to use, establishing her own company—Kristina Taheri Special Events—which she re-created and continued in the Chicago area ten years ago upon moving to Hinsdale. Her business style is bespoke personalized service. Connecting with the newest and hottest vendors and venues, the ability to handle any size event from an intimate, exclusive dinner party for ten, to professional corporate meetings for four hundred, to downtown loft weddings for two hundred and fifty guests, is all in a rewarding day’s work. She counts her role model as “the baby boomer women who paved the way for the next generations.” Surely, she’ll inspire success in other women someday—if she hasn’t already.
