PAWS Chicago, the city’s largest No Kill humane organization, hosted its 23rd Annual Fur Ball, presented by Nan and Wayne Kocourek. More than 550 guests and about 100 canine companions—many dressed in gowns and tuxes like their guardians—walked the red carpet and enjoyed an elaborate dinner buffet at The Drake Hotel. Event sponsors and guests raised crucial funds supporting the medical care of more than 22,000 at-risk cats and dogs at the PAWS Chicago Nan & Wayne Kocourek Medical Center, the nation’s largest and most advanced hospital for homeless pets. PAWS Chicago’s lifesaving programs have played a pivotal role in reducing the euthanasia of homeless pets in the city by more than 90 percent since the organization’s founding in 1997. pawschicago.org
