Jessica B. DeBold, a Certified Financial Planner ™ (CFP) and Enrolled Agent (EA) with Goldstone Financial Group, grew up running numbers with her father, who ran a family-owned business. “As a child, I remember him talking to me about their 401(k) plan and how he encouraged his employees to participate. He used an old financial planning calculator and explained compound interest to me,” says DeBold, who now has more than 18 years of experience in the financial industry. “I was immediately drawn to the power that financial planning could provide to people.” She currently works with Elizabeth Esarey at Goldstone Financial Group, which was founded on the belief that comprehensive financial planning should be included in every investment advisory relationship. DeBold is a CFP® professional and an Enrolled Agent. The IRS Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Enrolled Agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. Esarey, a CPA who brings more than 20 years of experience as a partner in a public accounting firm, specializes in working with small business owners and individuals. “I was an owner in a firm, so I have firsthand knowledge of what it takes to run a small business,” she explains. “I have advised many clients over the years on ways to reduce their tax burden.” DeBold, who is also a forward-thinking tax planner, says both she and Esarey know that financial planning is about more than managing assets. “At Goldstone Financial Group, we have a team of specialists in the different disciplines of financial planning that allows us to provide a very high level of detail and service to all of our clients.” Both Esarey and DeBold joined Goldstone after being part of a tax team for the largest Registered Investment Advisory firm in the country which managed nearly $300 billion in assets.
