Led by Vicki Murphy and Kendall Severson, Interior Design Partnership (IDP) is a mother-daughter design firm that specializes in creating beautiful, timeless spaces—both residential and commercial. Murphy has owned IDP for more than 35 years and Severson became a partner in 2016. IDP’s aesthetic is rooted in creating classically beautiful spaces that feel refreshingly balanced, stylish, and highly functional.

Why do you love what you do? We love the fact that our jobs require us to wear both a creative hat and a project management hat. And of course, we love revealing the finished product to our clients—their excitement is infectious!

What sets you apart from your competition? We are committed to developing strong relationships with our clients for the long run. We also benefit from the fact that we represent different generations, which helps us relate better to our clients.

Best thing about 2020 was? The pandemic has really helped us streamline our systems and processes to further grow our business. We also began offering commercial design in 2020, which has been very fulfilling professionally.

Where do you draw inspiration from? Each client inspires our design direction. From there, we are inspired by mixing and layering furniture pieces from different eras of design.

Most looking forward to in 2021? We began 2021 by kicking off several exciting design projects as well as hiring a wonderful new staff member who will help us continue to ensure projects are running smoothly and efficiently.
