Dr. Dalia V. Zhang is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma, cataracts, and general eye exams. She brings robust training to the team at Northwestern Medicine Ophthalmology, providing patients with a valuable understanding of how early detection of glaucoma can drastically alter the course of the disease for the better. Her personalized approach to care, coupled with novel, minimally invasive therapies, has given her a reputation for being a top eye specialist on the North Shore. “I think that providing good medical care is a very special opportunity to participate in a patient’s life, as well as their family’s,” she shares. “The kind of care and advice that I try to provide is the kind that I would want for myself or my family members.” She makes a dedicated connection with each of her patients by truly enjoying the process of getting to know them—where they are in their life and how their eyesight plays a part in it. During patient visits, she takes the time to unpack what her patient’s concerns are so that she can address them in that visit and all others going forward, together. “I’m passionate about my job because it allows me to build a long-term relationship with my patients. I can get to know them, I can really care for them, and I can really tailor their treatment plan for exactly what it is they need,” she says. The entire staff at Northwestern Medicine make it a special place for Dr. Zhang to provide care, she adds, because they are excellent at what they do. “They are really proud of their work and they’re always really excited to play a role in the patient care team,” she says.
