Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education (SCOPE) held its annual benefit event at Briarwood Country Club in Deerfield. The event’s 160 supporters raised $135,000 to provide 200 underserved children the opportunity to attend summer camp. The evening included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live music by Robbie Gold. To date, SCOPE Midwest has raised more than $1.5 million and helped send over 2,500 children and teens, mostly from the inner city of Chicago, to nonprofit overnight camps throughout the Midwest. scopeusa.org
