When October rolls around, so does one of everyone’s favorite traditions. The annual Wellness House ball, this year themed ALL IN, will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the Four Seasons Chicago. Wellness House supporters will don their most beautiful gowns and elegant tuxedos for a truly meaningful evening that always makes a significant impact for many. Wellness House never charges for their wonderful programs and the Wellness House Ball certainly helps keep it that way.
The theme of this year’s Ball celebrates the convergence of passion, expertise and support that improves the lives of people with cancer and their families.
For more than 30 years, Wellness House has been all in for each person who walks through the door or attends an online event. Whether that person is facing a new cancer diagnosis, learning to cook in a new way to nourish a family member with cancer, or a child with a parent who is in and out of the hospital with treatments, Wellness House has a program—and a community for them.
The theme also represents a return to the ballroom, where guests will experience an inspiring evening featuring a meaningful live program of storytelling, and a lively auction and paddle raise inviting guests to go “all in” for families affected by cancer. Guests will be seated at long tables chosen to foster feelings of togetherness and family.
Co-Chairs Lauren and Matt Houder and Dottie and Todd Martin are planning a memorable evening that will honor and support those affected by cancer, while also celebrating the many ways that Wellness House makes an impact on people with cancer. “What an honor it is to plan this evening. It’s really exciting, especially post-pandemic, to be able to gather in one room and make an impact on a disease that has in some ways touched us all,” says Dottie Martin.
The “wine cellar” led by Tina and Jeffrey Weller will feature something for everyone, with a variety of fixed price wines available for purchase to be enjoyed at the Ball or taken home. There will be live music by Time Chicago and dancing until Midnight.
ALL IN at the Four Seasons Chicago will help fund over 500 online, in-person and hybrid programs each month, including Information and education, exercise, nutrition, stress management, child and family, and support groups and counseling.
All Wellness House programs are evidence-based and help people with cancer reduce side effects, learn coping and relaxation techniques, exercise safely for increased energy, and feel less isolated. “We know many people who benefit from these thoughtful programs and are delighted to shine a spotlight on the success stories throughout the night,” says Lauren Houder.
For more than 30 years, Wellness House has been “all in” for people affected by cancer, thanks to an extraordinary community that has supported its mission every step of the way.
