The American India Foundation’s (AIF) Chicago Chapter hosted its 19th annual gala at the Field Museum, welcoming 350 guests and raising more than $1 million for its Women’s Empowerment initiatives in India. The evening, hosted by Northwestern Professor Mohanbir Sawhney, featured a moving program, a live auction, and first-class musical performances. The AIF is the largest US-based international development organization dedicated to poverty alleviation in India. Established in 2001 as a collective philanthropy platform to build a bridge of engagement between India and the United States, its multidimensional public health, education, and livelihood programs have positively affected over 18 million lives across 35 Indian states and union territories. aif.org
