At Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital Cancer Center and the Grayslake Outpatient Center, Dr. Adam Prescott is known for a steady, patient-centered approach defined by reliance, collaboration, and genuine connection. Though he’s quick to downplay the idea of “reputation,” colleagues rely on him for his consistency, preparation, and unwavering commitment to doing what’s best for the patient.
Dr. Prescott’s philosophy is simple: be thorough, responsive, and fully engaged—with patients and with the physicians, nurses, and specialists who support their care. “People notice when you follow up on difficult cases or take time to make sure everyone is aligned,” he says. “Trust is built in those small moments.”
His inspiration is deeply personal. He credits his mother’s resilience and quiet strength with shaping his values and his understanding of compassion. He sees that same perseverance in his patients and in the multidisciplinary teams that surround them. “Oncology requires extraordinary collaboration,” he notes. “Their dedication motivates me to bring my very best to every encounter.”
In a field rapidly transformed by precision medicine and targeted therapies, Dr. Prescott believes one thing remains constant: the responsibility to guide patients through their most challenging moments with clarity, honesty, and humanity.
Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital Cancer Center is located at 1000 N. Westmoreland Road in Lake Forest, 847-582-2134, nm.org.
