The Band and Wire team just celebrated their twoyear anniversary, with an exciting new expansion to come this summer. Band and Wire has been providing exceptional orthodontic care to adults and children of all ages in Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, and the surrounding communities since opening in 2018. Led by Dr. Ramzi Daibis and Dr. Tamara Oweis, both Board-Certified orthodontists, the team is dedicated to providing beautiful and healthy smiles for all of their patients. The doctors have also had plans to expand their practice from the start, and they are excited to announce that they now offer pediatric dentistry in the same office.
“Dental care becomes necessary as soon as the first tooth comes in, and orthodontic treatment becomes easier and less involved with proper and regular maintenance. Direct communication with the dentist is an essential part of the process. So, we thought it is most beneficial to offer both specialties to our patients at the same location,” says Dr. Daibis.
The team is excited to announce the new professional joining their practice, Dr. Kelsey Brar. Dr. Brar obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago where she was awarded the Dr. William S. Kramer Award of excellence from the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Sigma Chapter and the Brian D. Stone Memorial Award for her volunteerism and public service.
Dr. Daibis adds, “We are passionate about providing quality care in a comfortable environment with the patient’s best interest in mind. It was very important to us to find a pediatric dentist who shares the same vision and philosophy. Dr. Oweis and I believe we found an excellent match with Dr. Brar, whose educational background, treatment philosophy and bedside manner make her the perfect fit for our practice.”
After graduation, Dr. Brar furthered her education with a three-year pediatric dentistry residency program at the University of Illinois at Chicago while also pursuing a Master of Science in Oral Sciences and a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration.
“I truly believe that all children should have access to dental care. I am a strong advocate for children’s oral health, and I will continue to support this cause throughout my career,” explains Dr. Brar.
Dr. Brar, a Downers Grove resident and a mother of two, understands what concerns parents the most about their children’s dental health.
She explains, “I take a family-centered approach, which emphasizes the importance of parents participating in their child’s dental care. My treatment incorporates traditional, modern, and minimally invasive techniques to ensure a positive and stress-free dental experience, especially for children with special healthcare needs.”
Band and Wire’s unique and collaborative approach is convenient for parents who want their children’s dental and orthodontic treatments done at the same time and place. Additionally, there’s also the added benefit of dental specialists discussing and coordinating treatments to ensure the best results for their patients.
Dr. Daibis shares the group’s excitement, “By joining our specialties and expertise, we will provide seamless dental and orthodontic care from very early childhood through young adulthood. We are very excited about this new chapter for our practice.”
Band and Wire is located at 433 E. Ogden Avenue in Clarendon Hills, 630-320- 8888, bandandwire.com.
