Desiree Vargas Wrigley led a lively discussion about investing in venture capital with a select group of women on Le Colonial’s patio. From founding Josephine Collective, Chicago’s most active angel investor group, to building the largest source of non-dilutive funding for underrepresented Chicago-based founders through TechRise to launching Velocity Catalyst, a new venture fund designed to catalyze growth for Chicago’s venture economy and build wealth for local investors, Wrigley is committed to increasing female participation in venture capital and empowering more women to take active roles in building wealth. Attendees Karen Kerr of Exposition Ventures, Sonia Nagar of SNAK Ventures, and Betsy Fore of Velveteen Ventures also shared information about their funds.
