MAR SORAPARU is a visionary entrepreneur and driving force behind BIÂN—a Chicago-based luxury private club for wellness, work, and community. BIÂN was conceived by Mar and her fellow co-founders with a shared mission of creating the world’s most comprehensive space for living a vital life, opening its doors in November 2020. Soraparu’s multifaceted background spanning finance, sociology, wellness, and coaching has proved invaluable in support of this endeavor and has been instrumental in her success. Her authentic leadership and partnership has guided BIÂN as it has achieved substantial growth and garnered both industry recognition and accolades. “Most satisfying is the supportive and inspiring ecosystem the concept has created,” says Soraparu, who earned a degree in sociology at UCLA and has achieved numerous certifications as a Board-Certified Coach (BCC) through the Center for Credentialing and Education. “This environment enables members to take action in their pursuit of a life of greater well-being—a reality made possible by an unwavering dedication to BIÂN’s mission.”

Most rewarding part of what you do? Meaningful work that positively impacts the health, well-being, and fulfillment of individuals, teams, and organizations continuously motivates me. Seeing this positive impact every day inspires me to set an example for my peers and children—demonstrating the importance of putting in effort and rising to all challenges.

How should women support other women? When women respect themselves and take ownership of their lives, they inspire other women to do the same.

How do you inspire others? I would like to think that I inspire others by not letting much of anything deter me from what I set out to achieve. Finding purpose in the hardest and often unglamorous tasks, and taking pride in that work, is truly fulfilling.
