You don’t have to travel all the way to Chicago to be seen by the midwest’s top women’s health specialists. The University of Chicago Medicine’s Comprehensive Women’s Health Center in Hinsdale has been located on Salt Creek Lane since 2018. Specializing in reproductive endocrinology, gynecology, urogynecology and pelvic health, the center is located just off Ogden Avenue. The medical team in this small, quiet office focuses on delivering a personal touch to their patients.
Specializing in patient-centered gynecologic and reproductive healthcare, Dr. Julie Chor focuses on contraceptive care for young adolescents, young adults with complex medical conditions, menstrual irregularities, LGBTQIA care and sexually transmitted infection screening and counseling.
Dr. Laura Douglass performs a wide array of complex robotic and laparoscopic surgeries treating endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian/tubal cysts, and Mullerian anomalies. She also serves as the director of the Transabdominal Cerclage (TAC) Program. Dr. Douglass is an expert in TAC surgery, a procedure that prevents pregnancy loss in patients.
Dr. Dana McQueen specializes in reproductive medicine with fellowships in both reproductive endocrinology and infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. She is passionate about using research to improve patient care. Her research on risk factors for recurrent pregnancy loss and improving outcomes for in vitro fertilization has made her an expert in the field.
Fellowship-trained and board-certified urogynecologists Drs. Shilpa Iyer and Sandra Valaitis offer a number of office procedures and vaginal and minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat a variety of urogynecologic conditions. They specialize in the diagnosis and management of female incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal mesh complications and other urogenital system disorders.
The Comprehensive Women’s Health center has on-site ultrasound and a fully equipped procedure room for urodynamic testing and office procedures. Even through the pandemic, the clinic is one hundred percent operational, adhering to established safety protocols. In-person appointments are standard, although virtual appointments may be an option upon physician approval or follow-up care.
