Higher mortgage rates have cooled demand, but low inventory keeps prices stable. Buyers are more selective, and turnkey properties are in demand. Retail and mixed-use spaces are rebounding, while office spaces face uncertainty due to hybrid work trends. If interest rates drop, buyer activity may rise, but affordability will remain a challenge. Luxury and investment properties should stay strong, with high-growth job markets driving demand. Chicago’s suburbs like Barrington offer stability, strong schools, and luxury homes. Unlike fast-growing Sun Belt states, our market is steadier, with long-term value and a balanced pace of transactions.
