Connie Antoniou was born to Greek-American parents with deep roots in the motion picture business. Higher mortgage rates have cooled demand, but low inventory keeps prices stable. Buyers are more selective, and turnkey properties are in demand. Retail and mixed-use spaces are rebounding, while office spaces face uncertainty due to hybrid work trends. If interest rates drop, buyer activity may rise, but affordability will remain a challenge. Luxury and investment properties should stay strong, with high-growth job markets driving demand. Chicago’s suburbs like Barrington offer stability, strong schools, and luxury homes. Unlike fast-growing Sun Belt states, our market is steadier, with long-term value and a balanced pace of transactions.
