Balancing her passions for tennis, fashion, and nutrition with an unwavering commitment to family and community involvement, Robin Scheier is a vibrant presence in her hometown of Winnetka. This year, she is serving as the Parent Advisor Chair of the highly anticipated Rush Junior Board Fashion Show, collaborating with Junior Board Chairs Maggie Elvart and Margee Bâby to create an unforgettable event. On March 22, Michigan Shores Club will be transformed into Palm Paradise with Junior Board members taking the runway to showcase the latest spring styles from beloved local boutiques—including Bunny & Babe, Hill House, Gigi’s Closette, Lillie Alexander, and more. All proceeds from the event will benefit Rush University Medical Center, furthering Scheier’s conviction to use her leadership opportunities to make a lasting impact.
“With the daily drama that comes from raising teenage daughters, I gravitate toward books that are light and entertaining. I recently finished Liz Moore’s The God of the Woods—a suspenseful thriller with rich character development and enough unexpected twists to keep me turning pages late into the night. Next up is Workhorse by Caroline Palmer, a wickedly funny page-turner about a young woman navigating the world of fashion magazines in the early 2000s. It’s the perfect mix of sharp social commentary and nostalgia, exploring themes of class and ambition while bringing back memories of my own early career days in a new city.”
“Mornings start with a news fix—The Daily and Up First—while I walk my dogs, Moose and Buddy. In the car, it’s all about fun and inspiration, from Molly Sims’ Lipstick on the Rim to the laid-back sounds of Caamp and Mt. Joy. At night, I unwind with The Diary of a CEO, soaking up insights from British entrepreneur Steven Bartlett and his fascinating guests. And recently, I’ve been enjoying the Rush Junior Board Fashion Show playlist that Margee and Maggie curated; their mix of songs perfectly captures our event’s theme and sets just the right vibe for the runway.”
“My phone is my go-to for catching up on the latest arrivals at my favorite boutique, Bunny & Babe, and keeping up with my daughters’ new Instagram posts. When it comes to working with teens, staying connected through texts is essential, and my phone has truly become my lifeline as I collaborate with the Rush Junior Board chairs, ensuring every detail for the upcoming fashion show comes together seamlessly.”
