Advance Design Studio, Ltd. in downtown Gilberts is the northwest suburbs’ solution to design-through-build full-service home remodeling. The nearly 30-year-old company is the brainchild of designer Christine Jurs and builder husband Todd Jurs. Joined together in their “Common Sense Remodeling” process, the Jurs’ aim is to create seamless and predictable home remodeling experiences resulting in beautiful kitchens and baths, cohesive whole house renovations, creative home additions, and multi-functional finished basements. Their Gilberts showroom has everything you need to enjoy complete design services, every product selection necessary, project management, and construction—all in one place. Its entire client process is focused on the remodeling experience. “We think remodeling should be a fun experience,” says Christine, “one you will truly enjoy from the very beginning to the beautiful end.”
ON HER NIGHTSTAND
Books! I am constantly looking for inspiration as well as finding great training material for our team. They always wonder how I fit reading into an already busy schedule of family, work, and the two horses I compete as an amateur. I vision cast for our marketing team and right now am reading Unleash Impossible by Samantha Stone. I also recently had a great consultation with business coach Martin Holland who turned me on to his book The Profit Problem—They Say I Make Money So Why Don’t I Have Any. No matter how much success we may be blessed with, I never stop looking for new ideas to teach and grow.
IN YOUR EARBUDS
Right now, I am completing a 16- week online audio/visual program called Dressage Rider Training. It is an exercise program that I have come to love that includes tai chi, strength training, and yoga. I am actually a hunter/jumper rider, but dressage training is foundational to all great competitive riding as the workout is focused on building core strength and balance. I find that when I am healthy and competing, my drive in our business is just as intense and I am more ready to take on my day when I am feeling good and not constantly reminding myself of my advancing age.
ON HER MOBILE
As the head of marketing for Advance Design, I am on social media all the time. I love following leaders in our industry, especially when it comes to design trends. We post our work on both Instagram and Facebook, which is the best place to really get to know us because we feature current design trends and project photos, sometimes during construction which is fun. If I am not chasing design trends, I am posting pictures of my horses, my daughter riding, or my son and his dad who race high speed karts all around the country. Our family is very busy—when we are not working hard, we are definitely playing hard!
