For more than 40 years, Studio 41 home design showrooms have been bringing luxury products to the consumer at every level. Unlike other high-end showrooms, Studio 41 is open to everyone—whether you’re an interior designer, architect, builder, contractor, or even a homeowner working on a DIY project.
With kitchen remodeling season upon us, we turned to Studio 41 to see what was trending among designers in the Hinsdale area.
Iryna Haliy, director of kitchen cabinets division at Studio 41, says one of the biggest surprises of 2017 has been the return of black and blue colors.
“These colors used to be popular years ago, and now it’s becoming more popular again as an accent or even with whole kitchens,” she says. “We also are surprised to see customers looking more often for very contemporary designs.”
From kitchen fixtures to cabinetry, one of the signature offerings at Studio 41 has always been offering the highest quality products at affordable prices. Haliy says she and her design team naturally stay on trend just by keeping up with demand.
“We’re been following trends and updating our showrooms with the latest products,” she explains. “Our designers regularly attend industry related training sessions and subscribe to major design magazines.”
Another trend to watch in 2017 follows the millennial preference for simplicity. Heavy, traditional designs are starting to make way for simple, straight lines and iconic finishes.
“This includes decorative hardware and tiles as well,” Haliy adds. “Large tiles have become much more favorable than mosaic, which was extremely popular for the few last years.”
In addition to the resurgence of black and blue in kitchens, Studio 41 designers have noted a trending palette of warm grey, forest green, and cool ivory tones.
But the most red-hot trend of the year is one of efficiency features that save time and money.
“Everyone wants touch-to-open doors and drawers,” says Haliy. “This relatively new option offers true handle-less opening. Not only are homeowners able to save money on decorative hardware, which tends to be quite costly, they can now enjoy all functionality of minimalistic look in comfortable and efficient working environment. With maximum room to maneuver, you can’t snag clothing or bang your hips on door handles.”
The Studio 41 design team invites anyone remodeling a home this summer to stop by the Naperville showroom. And if you aren’t working with a professional, kitchen design services are offered at the showroom to help make your vision become a reality.
