One of the North Shore’s most beloved fall traditions returns on Wednesday, September 16, as the 55th Annual Cooks’ Tour opens the doors to four extraordinary homes in Winnetka, Kenilworth, and Evanston. This year’s theme, Tradition with a Twist, celebrates homes that honor architectural heritage while embracing fresh, highly personal design. Guests can expect a beautifully varied mix of residences, from a stately Colonial Revival with layered traditional interiors to a vibrant Palm Beach-inspired retreat. A storybook Tudor has been thoughtfully reimagined for contemporary family life, while an art-filled home showcases bold, personality-driven design. Along the way, visitors will find memorable design moments, plenty of inspiration to bring home, and the kind of behind-the-scenes access that has made the Cooks’ Tour a perennial favorite. Co-chaired by Lisa Farrell and Maria Shideler, the event benefits The Woman’s Board Endowed Fund for Research and Clinical Trials at Rush University Medical Center. After the tour, guests can keep the day going with lunch at Winnetka favorite, Pomeroy, toasting a day of inspired designs over a meal with friends and neighbors.
