The Newest Treatments in a Boutique Setting

Board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Leslie Beaird has been in practice in Hoffman Estates for more than 15 years. She just recently opened her own practice, Beaird Dermatology, to expand the range of cutting edge services she could offer her patients in a personalized boutique setting.
“I wanted to have a dermatology practice that was versatile and innovative—interested in new medical treatment protocols, technology, and cosmetic therapies,” says Dr. Beaird. “It was also important to have a place where I could guarantee that my patients would be treated in a friendly, professional, and respectful way.”
The amount of minimally invasive options for turning back the clock has never been more abundant, and Dr. Beaird is at the forefront of emerging dermatological procedures.
Take, for example, NovaThreads, a new alternative to surgical facelifts. Using absorbable threads composed of polydioxanone directly under the skin, the physician can instantly reposition and tighten the skin. It’s a short procedure that could happen over a lunch break. Over the following months, the patient’s body absorbs the threads and their skin creates new collagen.
“It fills the void where fillers and botolinum toxin have not traditionally given impressive results,” Dr. Beaird says. “It’s a nice bridge between injectables and plastic surgery that offers convenience, is lower risk than conventional surgery, and is more affordable. It gives significant improvement to those looking to make themselves appear years younger.”
Another exciting example are the wonders Dr. Beaird is achieving with Kybella, a prescription medication that has shown particular effectiveness at removing fat below the chin, colloquially known as the double chin. Using a synthetic version of the molecule that breaks down and absorbs dietary fat in the human body, Kybella destroys the fat cells underneath the chin, your body removes them, and over the following weeks the skin under the chin tightens, producing a much sharper, youthful jawline.
“Kybella is an alternative to liposuction or surgery, again with little downtime and minimal discomfort,” Dr. Beaird says. “There are many procedures and lasers that tighten neck skin, but few non-invasive ways to reduce neck fat.”
These are simply a couple of the most recent advancements currently practiced at the new Beaird Dermatology office. Dr. Beaird also uses the full range of wrinkle-reducing injectables and fillers, including Botox and Dysport, the Juvederm line, the Restylane line, Bellafill, and Sculptra.
She treats visible blood vessels and brown spots with the Cutera Excel V laser, which is also good for erasing spider veins and rosacea.
In the modern and relaxing setting of Beaird Dermatology, it’s never been easier to explore the wealth of youth reclamation options science has made available. And under the soothing guidance of Dr. Beaird, it’s never been more pleasant.
“My favorite part of working as a dermatologist is talking to patients,” says Dr. Beaird. “Everyone has a great life story to tell. I really like being able to quickly help people—make a diagnosis, give a treatment plan, and see them improve.”
Beaird Dermatology is located in the Prairie Pointe Medical Building at 4885 Hoffman Boulevard, Suite 407 in Hoffman Estates, 224-484-0183, beairddermatology.com.
