Lisa Tobey is a Luxury Real Estate Broker known for a thoughtful, design-driven perspective on luxury living. Her work centers on intentional spaces that balance timeless design with innovation, creating homes that feel both elevated and deeply personal. She credits part of her design inspiration to Holly Hunt, Founder of House of Hunt, whose influence emphasizes refined, livable luxury and enduring style.
What does luxury mean to you in 2026?
In 2026, luxury isn’t about excess; it’s about intentionality, ease, and quality of time. True luxury feels like: Nothing needs your attention—and everything is exactly as it should be.
What details instantly elevate a space?
Nothing elevates a room more than lighting and how it’s used. Let lighting be both practical and artful. It must feel considered, comfortable, and complete the moment you walk in, even if you can’t immediately say why.
How do you ensure every project feels personal and distinctive?
Every project feels personal and distinctive by designing from the inside out, not from a formula. Ultimately, a distinctive home doesn’t announce the designer—it reflects the person living there. When a client walks in and feels completely at ease, that’s when we know it’s truly personal.
What trends or shifts are most influencing your work right now?
Rich, earthy and expressive palettes moving towards warmer, more vibrant and nature-inspired hues. Add a curved and sculptural furniture piece as a focal point for warmth and flow. Texture equals luxury, inviting touch, not just admiration. Rich textiles: mohair, alpaca, cashmere. Layered textures, think velvet pillow atop wool throw on a linen sofa. Use tactile, natural materials for tabletops and finishes.
