The End Game For Pain

GhFITLAB founder GREG HACHAJ hails from a small fishing village in Poland near the Baltic Sea. Stints as a soccer star on Poland’s national team and as a bodybuilder stateside led to injuries resulting in a great deal of pain. In response, Hachaj developed an innovative method of using muscles to eliminate pain, known today as the GH Method. Hachaj works with many former Chicago Bears including Wendell Davis, Keith Van Horne, Otis Wilson, Mike Ditka, Dan Jiggetts, Brent Novoselsky, and Jerry Azumah at his facilities in Bucktown and Glenview. Van Horne remarks that GhFITLAB “has been a lifesaver, and I am grateful for it.” Here is how this fit innovator stays current.
ON HIS NIGHTSTAND
“Open Heart, Clear Mind by Thubten Chodron is the book that I return to often. Years ago when I was a professional bodybuilder, I only focused on the physical part of the body. I built the biggest muscle possible for competition, but there was no time left to focus on the mind and soul. This book helped me to bridge from a pain-filled life into a much more free and happy existence. The book teaches you to use different life experiences as learning tools. It also gave me the confidence to reach for the strength inside of myself and to follow what I believe is right.”
ON HIS MOBILE
“I am not much of a follower, so I do not follow a lot online. However, if I have a moment I like to read news about health and sports, especially NFL and soccer. I like The Athletic, Dan Pompei is one of my favorite NFL writers there. Rick Telander of the Chicago Sun-Times is another sports columnist I like. Their writing is witty and connects sports to real life and real issues.”
IN HIS EARBUDS
“First on my playlist is Jazz. I listen to it at work and in the car. Jazz makes me feel calm and connected. Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, and Ella Fitzgerald remind me of this wonderful music era in America of true musical craftsmanship. Unfortunately, I don’t play an instrument, but I think that if I did I would want to hang out with those guys, in those times.”
