ASKA™ A5 is a real flying car—the world’s first electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (eVTOL) that can drive on roads and fly. The ASKA™ A5 is powered by a proprietary power system that features battery packs and a gasoline engine that acts as an onboard range extender. This dual energy source delivers a 250-mile flight range and drastically increases power source reliability. Unlike any vehicle ever developed, this four-seater flying car is the size of a large SUV and combines the best in modern automotive and aviation design with a high level of safety. ASKA™ can drive on roads and take off vertically from a compact space like a helipad or by conventional runway takeoff and landing. A pilot’s license is required; training is included in the $789,000 price of the vehicle. An On-Demand ride service (targeted for 2026) will feature a fleet of ASKAs™ operating on demand in major cities and their surroundings. Free early bird registration is open now. In January 2023, a fully functional model of ASKA™ debuted at the CES show in Las Vegas. The company is progressing with FAA type certification and ASKA™ is targeted to launch in 2026, subject to standard regulatory certification. ASKA™ is now available for preorder at askafly.com/pre-order.

The new S2 Del Mar™ model from LiveWire™, an all-electric motorcycle brand spun off by Harley-Davidson, will reach dealers early this year with a price of about $15,000. The proprietary S2 ARROW architecture was created at Live-Wire Labs in Mountain View, California, but the bike’s lean “street-tracker” styling has its roots in Harley-Davidson acing legend. Expected to weigh less than 440 pounds and to be powered by an 80-horsepower motor, the S2 Del Mar should be blazing quick–LiveWire predicts 0-60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds. The anticipated range in city riding is 100 miles. livewire.com
Wine lovers, this is your dream come true. Thanks to Aire Ancient Baths in Chicago’s River West, you can literally bathe yourself in red wine. One of the most indulgent items on the bath house spa menu, this 180-minute red wine bath to soak in “the antioxidant properties of the Spanish Tempranillo grapes,” according to Manager Michael Lara. This experience includes time in the ancient thermal bath circuit and the laconicum steam room, in addition to 30 minutes in the wine bath with a cranio-facial massage. End the experience with an hour-long massage with grape seed oil. You will be transported to another place while you enjoy the benefit from the revitalizing and purifying effects. beaire.com
Everyone should see an opera at least once in their life, as it takes you on a journey through time and emotion. And there’s no better place to do that than Verona, Italy. The Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheater built in the first century A.D. to watch the fights of gladiators, will host the 100th anniversary of its iconic opera festival this summer. Enjoy performances such as La Traviata or Aida and feel the acoustics as they vibrate around the historical site. We recommend staying in the Italian Lakes and taking the train to Verona, as it’s only around an hour from Lake Garda. That way you can enjoy the beauty of the lakes by day and an evening under the stars at the opera by night. citalia.com

In a town full of galleries, one stands apart. Hinsdale’s Acquisitions of Fine Art has always been influential in the art world. With the recent expansion into Palm Beach, this spot is unstoppable. While founder Sheryl Srivastava holds down the ultra-chic fort in the Sunshine State, partner Thomas Karr continually elevates the Hinsdale Avenue gallery. Some of the incredible artists represented at Acquisitions are David Marcet, Michael Pantuso, the talent behind our Hinsdale Living January cover photograph, and Robert Fleishman, whose wild, exuberant paintings and digital collages have become must-owns for savvy collectors. For those seeking the rare and exquisite, the gallery is also home to original sketches by Coco Chanel and a Warhol that would light up any wall. Tom is an expert with a client list that reads like the Grammy Awards presenters, and although he’s far too discreet to dish, he will happily consult on artwork and framing needs for anyone with a good eye and interest in elevating their collection. Venezuela-born Dubhe Carreño is a Chicago artist, ceramics professor, and former gallerist who opened a new showroom and studio in Lake Forest this month. Carreño’s primary goal is to offer her clients a space where they can experience both a finished curated collection of art and design as well as a closer and intimate look at the creative process. THIS QUIET DUST CERAMICS SHOWROOM will regularly feature artists with the common goal of creating beautiful, hand-crafted, ethically-made objects that celebrate the importance of making your living space unique, functional, and beautiful. The name “This Quiet Dust” comes from an Emily Dickinson poem and serves as a metaphor for the human condition; we are impermanent in our physical form, yet our true self is transforming and everlasting. Likewise, Carreño notes “this clay can be transformed from dust to become that which holds our sustenance.” Visit This Quiet Dust to acquire the perfect little something and gain a special insight into creativity.
