Synchronicity

ELIZABETH SCOTT and JESSICA MARGOT are not sisters, but they might as well be. The two CEOs of the luxury furniture company, Margot Scott, are both formally trained interior designers. They have both founded and are operating their own design firms for the past 17 years each. And, they met a few years ago through their involvement in the same interior design organization, after which they became fast, close friends and ultimately, business partners. The company, Margot Scott, designs and manufacturers stylish wood based pieces handmade in Chicago. “For years, we created one-of-a-kind custom tables and credenzas for our projects.” So, they decided to create a company and a line that they can offer to everyone. “Now, when we realize something we want doesn’t exist in the market, we create it and add it to our line so that everyone can enjoy it.” The synergy between the two women continues as Elizabeth and Jessica both always knew they wanted to have their own businesses. They are driven and know what they want, and they work at a very fast pace together. “We both have lived this and know what it takes to thrive. We also have a lot of laughs along the way.” It’s no wonder they mention Kelly Hoppen and Athena Calderone as their role models. They admire Hoppen because she is incredibly grounded and very business savvy, and Calderone for her aspirational style and “swoon-worthy” inspiration that is still within reach. Margot Scott features classic, elegant, and bespoke pieces that will stand the test of time. Just like their friendship.
