Shakou Restaurants opened their newest location in Naperville this summer to rave reviews.
Those who have visited other locations know that Shakou Restaurants offer striking architecture, stylish decor, sumptuous cuisine, and only the highest level of service. This level of high-touch service is no small feat for Managing Director of Operations Tasos Maroulis, who oversees the Shakou Restaurants management team. In fact, it is this attention to detail that creates the unique dining experience that is above all others, yet close to home.
“Given both the scope of the menu and, most importantly, the quality of the food, our service and attention to the smallest details have to be priority one. Diners are very savvy nowadays and have more options than ever before so your service has to be nothing short of exceptional,” says Maroulis.
Award winning Executive Chef Sang Choi creates his eclectic menus by offering only the freshest ingredients combined with striking visual presentation to achieve unparalleled flavor and flair. Shakou Restaurants extensive modern Asian cuisine menu satisfies everyone from the youngest of diners to those with the most discerning of palates.
Sushi “fan” favorites include the Seven Spicy Ahi Appetizer, the Niku- Niku Signature Maki, and of course the signature Shakou Sushi Boats made for two or four people served on actual wooden boats. If cooked fish or beef are more your fare, be sure to order the Chilean Sea Bass with Yuzu wasabi or their mouthwatering Braised Short Ribs. Shakou offers both gluten-free and kids’ menus and can accommodate vegan and vegetarian diners as well.
Of course, no dining experience is complete without amazing cocktails or the perfect wine or sake. Heading up the beverage team is Beverage Director James Sweeney.
“While your Shakou signature cocktail and martini favorites are here to stay, we are putting more emphasis on pairing some of the higher end wines by the glass as well as offering unique craft cocktails,” says Sweeney. “Keep an eye out for some pairing suggestions via our Rewards program for current offerings.”
In addition to everyday dining, all the Shakou locations have become the perfect setting for any private gathering. Whether you are looking for an intimate setting for a smaller group of friends, an extravagant gala for larger groups, or a chic alternative for business outings, all the locations offer unique settings, fluid floor plans, and several party packages that can accommodate your needs.
