MICHONE J. RIEWER, a Partner at Lake Bluff-based Strategic Divorce, loves helping people and solving problems. “Being a divorce attorney allows me to do this every day,” says Riewer, who holds a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law. “We help people through the hardest time of their lives.” She has been practicing for more than 25 years with experience in all areas of family and matrimonial law, including custody, parenting time, parental decision making, maintenance (formerly known as alimony), child support, financial issues, corporate valuations, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, post-decree actions, and civil litigation. Most rewarding part of what you do? It is very rewarding to advocate for others and have a significant positive impact on their lives.
How should women support other women? Help other women when you are able. We are powerful, formidable, and amazing. We need to help each other. Together, we can create a strong, supportive community that uplifts and empowers every woman to thrive.
Best piece of advice for anyone starting out? Just do it. Progress requires both clarity and hard work. And don’t forget that you are networking the moment you set foot outside of your house, so be alert and prepared for the next opportunity to allow your business to help someone.
