Winnetka resident and Compass real estate broker Stacy Burgoon has loved raising her four children on the North Shore. She began her real estate career in 2015 after previously working as a buyer in corporate retail. Burgoon’s savvy skill set of analyzing market trends, leading negotiations, and attention to detail has translated perfectly to the North Shore’s luxury real estate market. She takes it one step further with an approachable, hands-on attitude and a proven success rate in helping her clients seamlessly navigate the sometimes challenging buying and selling process.
What’s most rewarding about real estate?
Helping make the process of moving less stressful for my clients. It is so rewarding to see my clients enjoy and make memories in homes that we have found together.
What do you think separates you from other real estate professionals in the business today?
I go above and beyond for my clients because I truly care that they are genuinely happy. For me, it’s not transactional—it’s personal—and I think I bring that to every element of working together.
What’s one misconception about real estate you had when you first started that you’d want a new agent to understand?
You are always working to stay up to date on a constantly changing market. It is so important to tour every available property, even when you don’t have a specific client for it because being current and knowledgeable about the micro details of the market is the extra value that you bring to your clients.
In real estate, what will never be replaced by technology?
Technology can provide many benefits in real estate, but it cannot replace the human factor of connection. The process of moving involves many emotional elements and a personal touch from someone who understands and facilitates that is hard to replicate with technology alone.
How do you win a listing?
I listen to my client’s priorities and develop a custom strategy that takes their needs into account while also always being flexible and willing to pivot. Every property and every client are different; I function how my client needs me to in order to make the process as seamless and successful as possible.
