The relentless back pain began when Wendy Hutton was just a teenager growing up in St. Louis.
“From a very young age, I saw the powerful benefits of chiropractic care”, says the mother of three from the back deck of her family’s Barrington home. “That’s why I decided I wanted to be behind the care.” Today, that teenager is now an accomplished chiropractic physician and wellness lounge owner who leads the skilled staff at Barrington Back & Body.
“I do find there is definitely a benefit in having some back issues myself because I can not only sympathize, but I can empathize with my patients, “ explains Dr. Hutton, who opened her first practice in Nashville, Tennessee in 2002. “I know what they’re feeling, and I know how it can affect their life and keep them from doing the things that they love to do … or the things that they need to do.”
And while Dr. Hutton and her skilled staff provide expert care for the physical needs of each of the patients who walk through the doors of their spa-like lounge, they too pay close attention to the equally important emotional aspects of healing.
“We take care of people,” says Dr. Hutton. “I want everybody to feel like they are loved and cared for from the moment they come in and to when they go out.”
Certainly, the nearly constant advances in technology continue to shape all that Barrington Back & Body offers, including the Acousana SoftWave services that can help provide long-term relief from acute, chronic, and post-surgical pain. This therapy utilizes acoustic shockwaves to induce a powerful natural healing response.
“It is the best technology out there for soft tissue healing,” she says. “The technologies that we use in the office are pretty incredible because we’re using focused energy that exists in nature to provide a specific benefit to the body. Whether it’s red light and radio frequency heat to reduce fat and create youthful skin, electromagnetic energy to tighten, tone or build muscle, or acoustic energy, velocity, or infrared energy to heal. We don’t do anything invasive to someone’s body. We are delivering energy of some form into their body to help their body have a specific positive response.”
“Our services aren’t always a luxury, “ adds Dr. Hutton, whose chiropractic, massage, and infrared sauna services release tension and increase movement, while also offering the ultimate relaxation. “Sometimes your body needs a massage. Sometimes your body needs to get healthier by releasing some fat, building muscle, or decreasing inflammation. We offer self-care in many forms.”
“These things are important. We overlook ourselves a lot. Taking care of ourselves is crucial for leading a fulfilling life and being there for those who depend on us.”
