Born in Krakow, Poland, AGNIESZKA IWASZCZYSZYN, DMD, moved to the United States at the young age of eight, bringing her rich heritage with her. Fluent in Polish, she earned her doctorate in dentistry from the University of Illinois. In 2018, she launched Hart Dental, quickly expanding from two to seven operatories by Her expertise includes Bioclear, dental implants, surgery, orthodontics, sleep apnea treatment, and Botox/Xeomin. Next up? Myofunctional therapy for young patients.

How do you inspire others? People are inspired by my honesty. Whether at work or at home, I’m clear about my expectations and the path I envision. I’ve also been a source of inspiration through my courage, which is strengthened by incredible support. My amazing mother—who works with me as a dentist—my supportive husband, and my friends, all give me the push I need. My staff and associates are equally amazing. I couldn’t do what I do without them.

Traits you think great leaders possess? Good leaders do what others are too afraid to do. They are not afraid of their ideas being unpopular and they have a passion that people are able to easily follow. Great leaders involve others in their ideas and bounce ideas off each other to create that greatness.

Powerful woman you admire the most? The most powerful woman I admire is my mom. At the same age I was when I opened my practice, she moved to the United States with my dad and me, temporarily giving up her dental career. She sacrificed a lot, and it took years for her to feel comfortable and find her way here. I can’t imagine making such a transition at her age. Watching her transform from timid to powerful has been incredibly inspiring.
