MIRA ALBERT, DDS, MBA, M.S., FAAPD, founded Brush Pediatric Dentistry in Hinsdale more than a decade ago with a vision to reinvent how children and their families experience the dental health journey. Believing that a visit to the dentist should be both fun and empowering, she recruited a team of likeminded expert doctors to deliver the best and most compassionate care possible to the families they serve—fostering lifelong oral health goals. Dr. Albert earned her bachelor’s and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at University of Michigan, her diploma in Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Science in Oral Health from The University of Illinois Chicago and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

What are you most proud of doing? I am most proud of helping kids and families every day with the success we’ve had in bringing my unique approach to the specialty of pediatric dentistry to the community where I live and beyond. I am honored that I have been recognized nationally as an expert in my roles as a Spokesperson of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and as a trustee of its foundation.

What’s the greatest risk you’ve taken as a professional? Leaving behind a stable six-figure salary as a young mother with two children under the age of 3 to establish Brush Pediatric Dentistry on my own. Thousands of patient visits later, I have never once looked back on that decision.

What does the idea of power mean to you? Power is the ability to surround yourself with a team of trusted individuals who believe in you to help carry out a vision, as well as a team of expert advisors to assist with the most crucial decisions.

What is the most important characteristic of an effective leader? Integrity is at the top of the list. When people know you have integrity, trust and goodwill are established. With trust and goodwill, anything is possible.
