Sebastian Kos is the founder of Sebastian Kos Law Office LLC, where he focuses on residential and commercial real estate transactions throughout the greater Chicago area. Raised in a family-owned hospitality business, he learned early that exceptional service, attention to detail, and lasting relationships are the foundation of a successful client experience. He brings that same hospitality-driven approach to his legal practice, guiding buyers, sellers, investors, and business owners through every stage of the transaction with responsiveness, professionalism, and a commitment to making the process as seamless as possible.

What do clients most often misunderstand about what you do?
Many clients think my job is simply showing up to the closing table and explaining closing documents. In reality, they don’t see the countless hours of work that happen behind the scenes—and that’s by design. My job is to anticipate challenges, coordinate all the moving parts, and resolve issues so the process feels seamless and stress free.

How has your definition of success evolved over the course of your career?
Early in my career, I defined success by the number of real estate transactions I closed. Now, it’s about building lasting relationships, earning my clients’ trust, and becoming the person they confidently refer to their family and friends.

What moment or challenge shaped you more than any title or achievement?
I thought the defining moments of my career were getting through law school, passing the bar exam, and taking the leap to open my own office. Those were certainly milestones, but the challenge that has shaped me the most has been learning how to successfully run my law office while making time for my growing family. I am a proud girl dad with two girls and a third due in August.
