For more than 60 years, Drs. Girgis and Associates has been serving the Chicago community with dedicated care in ear, nose, throat, and sinus specialties. This longevity is due, in part, to years of high-quality, specialized treatment and a clear passion for what they do. Dr. Tawfik Girgis trained in otolaryngology, also known as ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care, under worldrenowned, pioneering ear surgeon, Dr. George Shambaugh, and founded the practice in 1959.
“Since our practice was established back in 1959, we have been blessed to have longstanding, committed and caring team members who all strive to do what is best for patients every day in their work,” says Dr. Samuel J. Girgis. Today, Drs. Girgis and Associates is an all-encompassing one-stop-shop for a range of ear, nose, throat, and even sleep treatments. Their in-house and state-of-the-art services include thorough treatment for ENT related allergies, audiological and hearing aids, sleep treatment— with the help of a novel in-house Sleep Lab—and full body CT scans. At the helm of the practice today is Dr. Samuel J. Girgis, who followed in Dr. Tawfik Girgis’ footsteps and dedicated his profession to helping patients in the community find relief from a range of ailments, common or severe.
Dr. Samuel J. Girgis is a board-certified otolaryngologist specializing in general ear, nose, and throat conditions with an emphasis on facial plastic surgery and sinus diseases. He has performed a remarkable 8,000-plus nasal and sinus procedures since he first began practicing in 1986. One crucial element that sets he and his renowned team apart is their premier, advanced technology and facilities that make accurate sinus diagnoses. “We have the ability to perform an ENT examination and obtain a CT scan from our onsite facility in the same visit, allowing us to make precise, real-time diagnoses and implement effective treatment. This results in a more accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment plan,” a process that frequently saves patients time and unnecessary visits, Dr. Girgis shares. “We welcome our patients with a personalized touch, getting to know them as a person first, as this helps us cater to their particular needs.”
With over four patient generations of committed care now under their belt, Drs. Girgis and Associates are thrilled to continue serving future generations in the area with the service of their newest physician, Dr. Matthew Girgis, who will be joining the practice in 2025. The youngest Dr. Girgis joins from Kansas City University’s Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri, where he is currently finishing up his final phase of ENT residency. “We have been serving four generations of patients with quality care in a family like atmosphere and are excited to continue to serve future generations with Dr. Matthew Girgis joining the practice,” Dr. Samuel J. Girgis shares.
