Restoration Made Easy

The last thing a homeowner wants to worry about following a basement flood or house fire is dealing with an insurance company, and Nicholas Pacella knows that. In fact, he has tried to address that first-hand at his company, PuroClean Water & Fire Restoration.
“We are a first-class, full-service, A-to-Z restoration company. Anything that has to do with restoration, we can do it,” he says. “Plus, we do all the mitigation and reconstruction.”
PuroClean serves the entire Chicagoland area, but Pacella lives in Hinsdale, which means if you’re looking for the highest quality service from someone who’s also a neighbor, look no further.
“I’ve been doing this my whole life,” he says. “It’s a family business, and I grew up doing it. I guess you could say I have a lifetime of experience. When I was 10 years old, I’d be out helping with jobs at a burned-down building. That’s how long I’ve been into it.”
Because of his time in the industry, Pacella has seen first-hand the headaches that often come with home restoration, which often follows a stressful, emergency event for a family. “Because we’re local, we can get to you really quickly,” he says, always offering same-day service, even for non-emergency events. “We don’t mess around, and we’ve invested in the best equipment. We don’t bring any machines in the house. We have truck mounts and all top-of-the-line equipment.
“Once we get the house back to a safe spot, then we help file a claim for the customer and walk you through the process,” he says. “What makes us great is we don’t play any games with paperwork. The biggest problem in this industry right now is the time it takes to process paperwork with insurance companies because sometimes adjusters are overworked. We get it sent immediately.
“If you don’t have fast response times in this business, you can have homeowners with basements torn up for months,” he adds.
The other way Pacella and his team go above expectations is to spend the time in the beginning to protect the home—covering hardwood floors, railings and carpets throughout the home so no additional damage is caused during the repair. Pacella lives in Hinsdale, as does most of his staff of 15.
“These are people you probably went to high school with,” he says, and they truly care about the homes they’re servicing.
In addition to water and fire, PuroClean can help with any restoration needs, including mold, smoke, sewage, or biohazard issues. The spate of restoration projects keeps Pacella and his team busy year-round, but he’s still committed to responding and setting up a plan of action within 24 hours for all restoration issues, even if they are not emergencies.
Pacella has learned a lot during his time in the restoration industry: “A good lesson learned is to never try and interpret someone’s insurance policies,” he says. He also says he has learned how important the extra prep work is at the start, and that has helped his company build a reputation for best-in-class service.
“It’s that extra service you offer that makes everything go 100 times smoother,” he says. “We take the extra time to make sure everything is protected the way we should be.”
