Family law is deeply personal and highly emotional, often involving major life changes like divorce, child custody, and other challenges that impact families and individuals at their core. At The Law Office of Fedor Kozlov, founding partner Fedor Kozlov steps in not just as legal counsel, but as a trusted guide during life’s most difficult transitions.
Kozlov is an experienced litigator with over a decade of legal experience, recognized for his strategic, results-driven approach. His family law practice covers a wide range of matters, including contested and uncontested divorces, maintenance, property division, business asset valuation, child support, domestic violence, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
Based in Schaumburg and serving the greater Chicago area, the firm has earned a strong reputation for handling complex family and divorce matters with both skill and compassion.
Beyond family law, Kozlov advises individuals and businesses on a broad spectrum of labor and employment issues, such as workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, severance and contract negotiations, wage disputes, and Illinois Whistleblower Act violations. He also represents clients in disputes involving non-compete agreements, unemployment claims, and other workplace-related conflicts.
A skilled negotiator, he strives to resolve cases through favorable settlements whenever possible, minimizing the emotional and financial toll of trial. When litigation is necessary, he brings confident, experienced advocacy to the courtroom, including complex international disputes involving jurisdictional issues, child abduction allegations, and paternity matters.
Kozlov earned his Juris Doctor degree magna cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law. He is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Michigan.
He gained early legal experience through an externship with the Cook County Office of the Public Defender. Before becoming an attorney, he honed his negotiation skills through volunteer work with nonprofit organizations, including advocacy for women who survived domestic violence. These formative experiences helped shape a results-driven approach grounded in empathy. Combined with his courtroom experience, this foundation ensures every client is represented with both compassion and confidence.
Because family law is so uniquely personal, Kozlov’s multicultural background and ability to view cases from diverse perspectives greatly enhance his effectiveness, both in negotiation and litigation. His approach is guided by cultural sensitivity and practical insight, allowing him to advocate meaningfully for clients from all walks of life.
A member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the International Bar Association, Kozlov has earned recognition as one of Illinois’ “10 Best Lawyers in Illinois,” in client satisfaction, and has been recognized and distinguished by “The Who’s Who Directories” as one of the top attorneys of North America.
Kozlov brings an exceptional blend of legal insight, strategic thinking, and genuine empathy—qualities that have made The Law Office of Fedor Kozlov a trusted resource for families seeking clarity and resolution during life’s most challenging transitions. “In litigation, it’s not about dreams, it’s about strategy and results,” he says.
The Law Office of Fedor Kozlov is located at 1990 E. Algonquin Road, Suite 100, in Schaumburg, lawyer-il.com.
