Protecting One's Investment

It’s a predicament Samantha Staron has seen far too often.
In communities across Illinois, many homeowners spent years choosing to beautify their homes with cedar shake roofing. However, as the years have gone by, these roofs have begun to fail.
That’s where Elite Home Restoration steps in.
“(Cedar shake roofing) is a natural product that, over time, begins to deteriorate, especially if it isn’t maintained,” explains Elite Home Restoration co-owner Samantha Staron, who resides in South Barrington. “We used to sell a lot of cedar shake, but now we suggest that our clients consider a product called DaVinci composite shake, which is actually made of plastic. This product doesn’t weather and doesn’t fade. The homeowner really doesn’t need to worry anymore.”
And it’s this reassurance and trust and care that has made Elite Home Restoration such a popular company to work with for homeowners across the Northern Suburbs and beyond. Opened in 2012, the family owned business focuses on not just roofing, but whole exterior renovation and restoration for both commercial and residential property owners. Their work includes everything from the replacement and/or repair of roofs, siding, gutters, and windows.
“My husband has been involved in roofing for his whole life,” explains Staron, who currently employs a team that includes 15 salespeople and 10 production experts in their Streamwood facility. “His dad also had a roofing company. When I joined the company in 2015, our work was still very local, but we now service clients throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.”
The company’s rapid growth is not only a result of their exemplary work, but also the trustworthiness of everyone who works under the Elite Home Restoration umbrella.
“We truly are a 24 hour, 7 days a week company,” Staron says of the licensed, bonded, and insured company in the State of Illinois. “We get plenty of after hours calls with urgent issues such as blown off shingles or water damage. By 6 a.m., when the sun is coming up, we are there tarping everything up. Whatever we need to do to eliminate the potential damages that are happening, we will do, even if that means coming out on a Sunday to get everything under control.”
Of course, springtime is quite the busy time for Elite Home Restoration, as homeowners begin to notice the wear that winter had on their homes.
“From leaks in windows to leaks in roofing or gutters, we are always there to deal with those urgent issues. Then as the spring wears on, homeowners begin to look more at the improvements that they want to do to their house, whether that’s replacing patio doors or upgrading their siding to get what their neighbor got,” Staron says. “It’s all about improving your exterior to help increase your overall property value.”
Of course, Staron knows that these sorts of home improvements can throw anyone’s budget for a loop.
“It can be a considerable sum of money to do everything all at once, so we follow a top down approach,” says Staron, whose company is a proud member of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce. “Roofing tends to be the most expensive, so we can do that first. Then, after a year or so, we can come back and talk about putting up that new siding or installing those new windows.”
And yes, the customers always come back.
“It’s not uncommon for us to work with a homeowner year after year after year,” concludes Staron. “They want it done once and they want it done right. And that’s exactly what we do.”
Elite Home Restoration is located at 1533 Burgundy Parkway in Streamwood, 630-823-8580, ehomerestoration.com.
