When one undergoes an elective aesthetic surgical procedure there is usually a scar. The body heals by producing a scar and there is a variability as to how well the final appearance of that scar will be. Obviously, placement and meticulous closure is essential but after that there are additional treatments that you’re Plastic Surgeon can offer.
At Body by Bloch, we follow all patients for at least about 1 year to monitor your healing progress. To try and ensure a successful outcome we have introduced microneedling with exosomes.
Microneedling combined with exosomes can improve certain scars by stimulating remodeling collagen production and regenerative signaling. Exosomes are extra cellular vesicles that carry proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. They can modulate inflammation, support fibroblast activity, and promote healing.
Emerging clinical data shows anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic effects that may aid wound healing and scar quality.
Depending on how the scar looks and what were trying to achieve there is a choice of available exosomes.
Other modalities involve silicone sheeting, lasers, and possible steroid injections.
For additional information or if you have any concerns about your scar, I suggest a consultation.
