Established in 1963, Hinsdale Assembly is one of the most quietly impactful organizations around. Each year, a group of debutantes and honor guards work diligently on service projects ranging from helping sustain a local forest preserve to working at a food pantry to spending time with seniors and supporting children affected by cancer.
All these good works are in addition to the main mission of Hinsdale Assembly, which is to support the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. 2025 marked the final year that the Hinsdale Assembly had earmarked funds for the renovation of the neonatal intensive care unit at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale. The NICU is one of the lasting legacies of the Hinsdale Assembly.
This year’s class will start on a new project: an additional and much needed 3D echocardiography, or echo unit, to support the structural heart program.
Each year on December 23, the debutantes and members of the honor guard are celebrated at the Hinsdale Assembly Ball. No matter the weather, it is always glowing with warmth and beauty inside the Ball, where three generations of Hinsdaleans gather to show their dedication to tradition and commitment to the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation.
This year’s group of 40 young people was extraordinary, building friendships, supporting each service project with vivacious energy, and reflecting well on this beloved group, which will strengthen their commitment to a lifetime of philanthropy. hinsdaleassembly.org
