MISTIE PSALEDAS LUCHT grew up in New Hampshire before studying communications and art at Boston College. After graduating, she transitioned into the workforce, spending much of her career working for Fortune 500 companies in promotion marketing. Soon, Lucht’s focus turned to her three children—Lillian (13), Eleanor (11), and Adeline (8)—as she became a stay-at-home mom, entrepreneur, and volunteer. Lucht has served as the PTO President at Monroe School, a committee chair with the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club (HJWC), and her favorite volunteer position—Ambassador Chair and Special Events Director of the Hinsdale Humane Society. Lucht’s love of animals has brought three pets into her home—Sampson, a 130-pound Great Pyrenees; and two cats, Einstein and Wally. If you don’t know Lucht from her volunteer work, then maybe you’ve seen her in the gym. “At the age of 40, I was certified as a Personal Trainer and a group fitness instructor, with additional certifications in Boxing, TRX, and Youth Exercise Fitness, and started my own training business Fit Force,” says Lucht. When COVID-19 hit, Lucht was furloughed but still hopeful. The creative mom decided it was finally time to start the business she had been thinking about for five years—Wiggle Tooth Fairy Registry. When Lucht isn’t cheering on her children or working out, she enjoys painting, writing, and exploring hidden treasures in Hinsdale with her family. Here are a few of the busy volunteer’s favorite lasts:
LAST GREAT IDEA? Wiggle Tooth Fairy Registry, an idea I had five years ago. I needed a solution for when my kiddos lost their teeth and created this all-in- one kit. It takes the worry and stress away.
LAST SONG THAT PUMPED YOU UP TO WORK OUT? As a trainer I have so many, but my recent favorite is “You Can’t Stop Me” by Andy Mineo.
LAST COMMUNITY EVENT YOU PARTICIPATED IN? I attended the Hinsdale Junior Woman’s Club Benefit in February and had the honor of being an emcee alongside Mike Wiggins at last year’s Hinsdale Humane Society Pet Walk—one of my alltime favorite events.
LAST INSPIRING READ? Atomic Habits by James Clear.
LAST FAMILY CELEBRATION THAT YOU’LL CHERISH FOR A LONG TIME? My birthday in March. It was right after quarantine started so my plans changed drastically. My girls and I painted rocks and left them along a path at Waterfall Glen. Then, they did my hair and makeup, decorated the dining room, and we had a dance party. It was a great way to ring in 44!
