On My Desk: Francesca Connell

My desk is command central of the house. Bravo Waukegan is an organization my husband Liam and I have been involved with for the last ten years. Sadly, the benefit I was co-chairing to raise much needed funds for its programming was cancelled due to the COVID-19 health crisis. Here on my desk, you can see the letter sent to our supporters announcing the cancellation and requesting donations in lieu of attending. Bravo Waukegan supports students of the Waukegan public schools, partnering with the fine arts administration to fund opportunities to grow through music. We provide resources for supervised, creative programs that take place in-school, after-school, and during the summer. Collecting and refurbishing musical instruments to be distributed to students in the program is another big part of what Bravo Waukegan does. Consider donating the instruments and musical equipment collecting dust in your attic—they will be loved and cherished!
