CONSCIONABLY CLOTHED
Vincent James creates foundational pieces for a chic capsule wardrobe that carries you with confidence and ease from park dates to board meetings to cocktail parties. The line uses the highest quality natural fabrics sourced and sewn sustainably and ethically. VINCENT JAMES creative director and founder Heather Sullivan’s passion for design started as a child when her pattern-maker grandfather, Vincent James, would help make her fashion designs come to life. As a mother of four, Sullivan’s passion for environmental and women’s rights drives the line’s ethics. For example, Vincent James’ reversible merino sweater dress is made from 100 percent domestic, regenerative, soil and climate-beneficial fibers. The way the animals are raised enhances the soil by capturing more carbon thus helping to mitigate the harmful effects of carbon in our air and water. A beautiful and conscientious concept. UPTOWN GLENCOE
Hometown Glencoe proprietors Lou and Julie Rubin jumped at the opportunity to purchase the property above their bustling business to serve their loyal clientele in a new way. Enter UPTOWN, a unique and versatile event space designed to feel like an expansive living room, complete with a 21-foot-long bar. Uptown, unlike many event spaces, requires no added decor to feel finished and festive. Guests are the only thing needed to bring the room to life. The 2,100-square-foot space is clean and modern, yet still cozy and inviting thanks to sumptuous lounge seating. Large windows fill the space with sunlight during the day and twinkling white lights on surrounding trees create a serene environment in the evening. The Rubins envision renting Uptown, which accommodates up to 110 guests in a variety of layouts, for gatherings like milestone birthdays, showers, corporate events, board meetings, fundraisers, and even small weddings. The venue is ideal for a live band or DJ and dance floor, and guests may use Hometown or outside sources for catering. Just another reason to love Hometown Glencoe.
