HOME
Charlotte Moss is an interior designer, author, and philanthropist. Her new book, HOME: A CELEBRATION: Notable Voices Reflect on the Meaning of Home, is a vibrant and diverse collection of talented designers, photographers, actors, artists, and activists’ responses to the fundamental question, “What is home to you?” The 125 contributors responded to the prompt with personal and distinct interpretations illustrating their understanding of “home.” The inspiration for Moss’ book is Edith Wharton’s The Book of the Homeless, a 1916 successful fundraising effort that aided refugees and children throughout the First World War. For Moss’ book, a portion of the proceeds are benefiting No Kid Hungry, a non-profit campaign that works to help feed children in the U. S. who live in food-insecure homes, a problem magnified by the economic devastation of COVID-19. A beautiful book with a beautiful purpose. HOME: A CELEBRATION: Notable Voices Reflect on the Meaning of Home, edited by Charlotte Moss© Rizzoli New York, 2021, is scheduled to release on September 21, and is available for preorder at rizzoliusa.com.
CRAZY ABOUT WINE
In case you missed it, the North Shore gained its very own full-functioning winery last summer when Pazzo di Vino opened its doors in Highwood. In Italian, “Pazzo di Vino” roughly means “crazy about wine.” Owner Lorenzo DiVito doesn’t think that wine tasting needs to be complicated or intimidating. He believes the best wines are the ones you like the most and he encourages visitors to try a little bit of everything in the tasting room. Currently, Pazzo di Vino offers ten varieties of wine, from a light Sauvignon Blanc to a hearty Old Vine Zinfandel. Grapes for the next small batch vintage arrive mid-month when they will be hand sorted and crushed. “We are thrilled to be gearing up for our second commercial crush under much better conditions than last year,” says DiVito. Club members and guests can get involved in the crush. “Many hands make light work,” notes DiVito. Follow on Instagram @pazzodivino or visit the event page at pazzodivinowinery.com for updated information on the arrival date of the grapes and how to participate. Pazzo di Vino is located at 524 Sheridan Road in Highwood, 847-780-3448.
