Northshore Dermatology moved to a new office in Lake Bluff in 2015, expanding the practice and connecting even more people with skin care services. Now, Dr. Tina Venetos is offering even more cosmetic services than ever, as well as the trusted medical advice patients have come to rely on for healthy skin.
“First and foremost, we want everyone to take care of their skin,” Dr. Venetos says. “I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to come in for a yearly skin check.”
She says it’s also important to see someone who is specifically trained in the field. A board certified dermatologist, for example, is trained in recognizing medical issues, as well as the procedures they’re going to perform. The majority of her patients come in first with medical concerns, like a rash, acne, eczema, a worrisome mole, or for a preventative skin check. Once there, they might inquire about ways to improve their skin’s appearance, and look toward the vast array of procedures Northshore Dermatology offers.
Those services are growing, with new additions like Hydra Facial MD, a non-invasive treatment that combines a water-based mechanical exfoliation with a chemical peel, and delivers antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides to the skin in one simple treatment, leaving skin glowing without any downtime. Another new treatment, Kybella, is an injectable, permanent treatment for fat reduction under the chin. For those who prefer a non-injectable treatment, there’s the option of the CoolMini, a CoolSculpting treatment for the area. ThermiVa uses radiofrequency for feminine rejuvenation, helping with urinary incontinence, lubrication, and vaginal tightening. Miradry uses microwave energy to eliminate the one-percent of the body’s total sweat glands that are under your arms, resulting in odor and sweat to cease. As an added benefit, underarm hair is also removed. These are just a few of the plethora of treatments available at Northshore Dermatology, not to mention CoolSculpting/Dual Sculpting, NeoGraft hair transplantation, PicoSure tattoo removal, Ultherapy, Neuromodulators such as Botox and Dysport, and fillers, including Radiesse for the hands, which lasts up to three years; and Volbella, the newest filler for the lips.
Dr. Venetos has also started featuring a new line of products for her patients called SkinBetter. One such product is Invisilift, which after a three minute application, gives “facelifts” that last up to 12 hours. Each box is only $90, and lasts for 7-10 uses. The office also sells EltaMD sunblock, which is the best in the business as it’s chemical free and uses both zinc and titanium, so it physically blocks sunlight.
“As spring break season rolls around, it’s important to start thinking about how we’re going to care for our skin,” Dr. Venetos says.
In addition to the new Lake Bluff office, the Wilmette location moved into a different, larger suite in the same building, and hired an additional certified dermatology physician’s assistant.
“It’s allowed us to have more hours in all of our offices, including every Saturday in Lake Bluff,” Dr. Venetos says. “I’m so happy we can deliver the same great service and same great results to our patients, now on a larger scale.”
